bà ngoại
“I never met her, but I think about what her days might have looked like. Like many boat people, Phan Thị Ánh left Saigon with her husband and nine children and started over in Montreal. Back in their home country, they owned a successful restaurant. When they arrived in Canada, they reopened it under the same name. She carried all the recipes by memory. Work became life, repeated every day. This photo series is a reimagining of fragments of her day. I never saw it myself, but through objects, habits, and repetition, her story continues. Passed down, felt, and remembered across generations.”

buổi sáng
“I imagine her morning starting with Vietnamese coffee, strong and familiar. The metal strainer left on the counter, cooling.”

bữa trưa
“In the middle of the day, a short pause. Pear with salt and chili to dip, paired with tea. A small moment shared with staff and family, between long hours.”

buổi tối
“At night, jewellery and glasses are removed, put aside. A well-deserved rest.”  — Tiffany Ho
